Villain is pretty nitty at 17/14/3.67 over 510 hands... At what hand range do you put him once he checked the flop in this 3-bet pot? Any better line to take in these situations?

this is a standard AK line for this type of villian. Occasionaly he will show AQ or AA. But AK almost always.

I dont think you are ever good against this villian.

Also he could've hit a set on the turn with TT... You only beat a bluff here, which I don't think he has ever here.

Why would villain check AK on the flop?

Why would villain check AK on the flop?

[/ QUOTE ]My point exactly. Wouldn't anyone pick that up as a sign of him being scared of the ace and put him on possibly KK/JJ?

I've seen this hand before in PNLH -- you check the flop with AK to get action from hands like QQ and JJ.

(i.e. you check the flop, so your opponent is curious as to why you didn't C-bet. He then proceeds to call with QQ/JJ because he thinks you're FOS).

If villain is decent, he would check flop sometimes as it is very dry, there are few bad turn cards, and he can get you to think exactly the way you are, paying him off with a hand you never would have if he bet the flop. I do this from time to time and it works like 100%.

Check fold on every street. If he doesn't have an Ace, he certainly has KK here, made a set with 1010 or a badly played JJ. Fold.

[/ QUOTE ]Well this is exactly what happened and I payed him off with QQ and he showed AJ. It wasn't a play I was familiar with, so it really caught me off guard. GG for him.
