50nl A9s in BB vs a steal

Villain is 26/23/4 with ATS of over 40%

I feel like I'm spewing $ in these spots. He opens almost 50% of his hands on the button so obviously I'm ahead of his range. Is this pretty standard? I seem to get smooth called and then raised on the flop every time I 3 bet one of these guys.

What is the question. He plays the hand correctly. He does this with any jack and 6 any pair 77+. You need to adjust or find a better target.

From the look of your question, your best line for now would be to either give up your blinds or change the tables. Ye, I know, ego and all but its up to you.

Second best is to reverse the tactic and c/r all in with any piece of the flop. He will be much more careful to play back at your 3bets.

Third option is you can try to float. Not very easy against a LAG player OOP, but possible. Good handreading is a plus.

Generally try to piss him off when you have position on him. You have make it clear that you are not afraid to gamble in these spots. A good player will pick this up and switch targets.

are you suggesting just calling preflop then check raising.. or still 3 betting?

My hand in this one is pretty irrelevant actually.. I could have AK, AQ, 9's.. would your play change if you had one of these hands instead of A9?

3betting then c/r. Hand is very relevant since you are going to be facing a middle pair most of the time with not much FE. You want a draw with an overcard ideally. Compare your equity against his calling range. Say the board comes 25J, its much wiser to c/r with KQ than 88.

Calling and c/r is fine on some boards like 249r but dont overdo it, I prefer 3bet.
