Button is an idiot who has been min betting the entire session. Other villain is short so this move could be a wide range. Who likes my line and who feels calling the raise to 6 is probably better?

You 5bet AI with QQ, i think it's a split at best.

why do you call the 3bet but push AI then?
4bet to something like 8 and fold to a push/5bet.

Your 5bet will only be called by worse hands and it's not that much dead money in the pot.

Why did you call the 3bet by the small blind? I usually put them all in w/ QQ if they are only 24 blinds deep.

BTN's play I totally don't get. Probably he was getting fancy with suited cards or something.

I called the 3 bet pf because I almost never 4 bet pf. However, once the button re raises, I figure he is capable of doing this with a ton of hands so I pushed. I am just unsure if the best way to get his money in the middle is to push or c/r flop. As far as my 5-bet being called only by worse, if I believed that to be the case, I would not have 5-bet. This particular villain could be capable of calling with as little as 99 here.

given OP's read a push here is fine. But I am definitely gonna be the one 3betting instead of the Btn calling/4betting which makes my brain melt thinking about the reasoning.

given your reads on BTN I guess this is ok cause he cant really have a good hand here but id just 4 bet it pre and try to get BTN to come along flat calling 3 bet then/push 5 betting is kinda crazy/suicidal in general

Yea I understand it looks really backwards, my plan was to just call the 3 bet a take a flop, which is my default play. But the buttons weird play made things seem really different and just messed up my whole plan.

Id raise to $6 after the SB raises, this way youll find out if the button is stronger than you if he 5bets again and you dont end up shoving and only being called by AA KK

I think this is pretty standard for having the donk's dead money in the pot, make him show up with AA/KK to beat you, otherwise pretty standard for not being just over 100BB's deep.
