My brother actually came into the room when i was playing this hand and made me jump, and so my arm spazzed out and i clicked the check button on the turn which i wasn't happy about. I most likely would have bet something like 60 cents at this spot. But this river bet is really deceiving.

How is it deceiving? I would still raise villain's weak bet.

I've heard some pretty bad excuses for playing weak-tight before, but this one really takes the cake.

there's a ton of draws, I'd raise more on the flop, bet turn and definitely raised river although I do not think it gets called very often - these small bets villain is making are mostly draws, weak hands like 2nd pair or total air. The people who use them are usually bad enough to call a moderate river raise with 2nd pair.

Next time your brother doesnt come in the room and make you jump, BET THE TURN!! Raise the river!

I'd definately raise river. It looks like a blocker bet trying to get some value out of tp. Especially at these stakes you'll get a call from pretty much any pair here.

Lolz i got caught out /images/graemlins/tongue.gif Ok thanks guys for the tips, i should raise more on the flop and definately bet the turn. Sometimes i just get nervous. (When my brother comes into the room maybe)?

I think i actually remember why for a split second i checked. I think it was because i was thinking of pot control and keeping the pot relatively small to the stacks so that i wasn't crossing the committment threshold. I have just finished reading PNLH but does this not apply here in this particular spot?

Jesus this is weak-tight. How can you simply call bet on river? Raise that [censored].
And no, when there's a flushdraw on the table, you can't let him get a free drawcard no matter what. This bet may well be a missed draw, trying to bluff you out. (Which obviously doesn't work when betting 1/8 of the pot)

You have villain's range crushed. Don't try to control the pot - unless "control" means to make it really big.

That river bet is a NL2 blocking bet. He wants a cheap showdown with his JT or something like that.

60 cents isn't enough. Bet pot.
Easy raise on the river as played.
