I thought about checking the flop but somehow it did not feel right not to cbet when checked to - the pot was big enough to try to take it down - maybe I'm wrong.

Do I give up after I am called here?

He's betting less than you bet.. I have a hard time folding here.. I call or shove.. leaning towards just shoving since he could be trying to get a cheap card with a draw.

what draw exactly? We have the As. What can he have - KsQs? Do you think it's likely that there is a draw that would call the pfrr OOP?

Push or call any river bet, either one. Not folding.

what do I put him on here?

My guess was JJ+ or AJ

Can I expect him to have hands like
KsQs, KJs, QJs, TT, 99, 33, 44? I might be wrong but I think I do not see them in 3bet pots very often.

i agree your not ahead of THAT much of his range here and checking flop might get value from like a small PP that might fold to a c-bet.
