If you're going to c-bet this flop then you should probably C-BET IT. Less than half the pot is not a c-bet, it's a tip. Make it $2 or $2.50 and you'll at least have a chance at some folding equity.

As played, checking behind on the turn is OK, but so would a second barrel. That turn card was such a big brick that it clanged; you might as well take another stab at the pot with a $4.50 turn bet. As soon as you hit the bet you can then click the "fold to any bet" button, because you're now officially done with the hand -- this is a semibluff with ten outs, but it's still bluffy.

As played, you're done. A bluff-raise on the river is insanity and you're not getting value by calling. You took your free card on the turn, you missed, you're done -- let it go.

My policy is never call for a split. By calling you're betting $3 (to win only $3)that your opponent doesn't have a J, 8, Q, 99, TT, etc. Worse, although you may win half the pot, you won't get back all of the money you called with since some of it will be raked. Your getting less than 1:1 hoping for a split. This is a common thing I see a lot of peeps do at micro stakes with AX. They call and get beat by a better 2 pair, and every now and then end up splitting but getting too much raked. This scenario isn't as bad because the bet is smallish in relation to the pot, but overall such a call is bad business.

calling river is spew, cbet as noted by pokey does nothing except sweeten the pot, cbet for at least 2/3rds pot ftw.

I raise more pf with a limper (I go to 4.5bb for 1 limper, 5-6 for 2+), and I don't cbet a flop like this without a hand and 2 players, because too often I get called by a Jack, 8, or crappy draw.

Felt like it was extremely unlikely villain had Q or J here with the limp from that position, I actually thought he got counterfeited with an underpair on the river, called and took it down - he had 97ss, I'm not a big fan of hero calldowns usually but I just couldnt give him the J or Q here.

Even excepting the limp he didnt bet the flop or turn, and suddenly we're beat on the river?
