Simple preflop question: Often MP / CO or BU just limp, and you are in the SB or BB with a hand like AJ / AQ. Do you usually raise raise when someone most likely call with position on you? What when there are two limpers behind you?

I always like to raise those hands if there are limpers in the pot. Make it a little larger than usual due to your bad position and if there is more than one player. A lot of the times I'll get called if villains are loose preflop, but a Cont. bet usually takes this down.

How large? I usually raise 4BB + limper.

And you notice that you pots are bigger when you are oop. I used to think that we want to play big pots ip and small ones oop. That's why I most of the time just limped along with AJ / AQ. But since multiway pots seem not to be optimal with that hands I am asking for advice.

If I'm OOP, I like to add an extra BB on top of the raise rule. I usually do 3.5BB + Limper, so 3.5BB + Limper + 1BB.

4BB+(1bb x #limpers) is good.

As n4rf said, if there are any takers, a c-bet will usually win the pot.
