No reads on villain except that he's been betting and raising quite a bit, but showed goods hands each time.

Why am I raising this flop? Is it for value? Is it because I want to protect from draws? Should I not call his push then? In case I don't put him on a draw or on a weaker hand, does it not make sense to call his flop pot-bet and reevaluate turn? It is a very simple hand, but it really bothers me, because I don't fully understand what I did there.

The fact that he is leading into the preflop raiser here gives him a much wider range than normal IMO. Villain could def be taking this line with a draw or 9+gs or something like that. And the pot odds are huge. I'm inclined to call here, although it's a bit close.

Your flop raise should be for value and protection, and is fine imo.

I can't really see raising as getting value here, the only hands you're beating are flush/combo draws, and even then you're probably only a slight favourite at best. He could also easily have a set or top two here

i fold this every time. even if he has a flush draw or a combo draw, he is ahead or its a coin flip. this is a high variance call

Why are you raising this hand UTG?

Don't raise the flop unless you're willing to call this.

Since it is 5 handed, it is more like MP. I think you can raise this from MP.

Your raise ends up with an spr of about 12, which is the worst spot for 1-pair hands for this precise reason. Either limp here, raise less, or raise more, and you'll avoid this tough decision.

Please don't raise this flop after he pots it.

what is "spr"?

bazooka87

SPR is stack to pot ratio, basically how big your stack is in regards to the size of the pot. In this hand, the effective stack size on the flop is $48.52 and the pot going to the flop is $4.25, giving you an SPR of about 12. It's discussed in detail in Professional NL Holdem

Because you don't have tons of equity vs really any hand he might do this with.

Fold, you really aren't beating any/many hands here. I've had tons of donks push with hands like this, but think about it, what the hell are you beating here? K9?

EZ fold with the above being the best advice here.
