I'm totally unaware how to play draws. My strategy: try to be aggressive if I'm OOP (but then I don't know how to proceed after flop if I miss) and use Outs & Odds when I'm in position and facing a bet. I fold gutshots often, I never see enough implied odds. I don't find any guidelines. Reading hand comments in the forum is very unproductive when having no clue in the first place - they cover not a general approach but more a solution to a specific situation.

I think you played it fine. Some may argue for a fold preflop. A nice flop for you. You have the second nuts on the river, value bet it.
