This is something i was thinking about this week and i tried it.

Im a 6 max player and i hate full ring.

I just sat at a full ring table with only 2 or 3 players in it and play until theres more than 5 players on the table and change table after that and repeat the processus.

Maybe its ridiculous but i did very well since i felt those players were not very good at short handed poker.Anyway at the level i play NL10-Nl25 , players are bad for the majority anyway on the 6 max tables , but it was very very soft on the FR table.

Anyway i dont really know why i post this , i guess im at work and i have nothying to do.

What do you people think of this idea?

Yeah, this is viable, but it sucks because a lot of the tables get filled pretty quick. You'll spend way too much time switching tables to really use the equity gained from these tables.

well , i just tried it 3 or 4 times and the majority of the time i would play between 30 minutes and 1 hour before the tables filled up.but i agree its a small sample.I was really running over them.

Some full ring players don't adjust well especially in the micros. That's why I play 6max too, so when tables break up I can switch gears. Also, most decent FR players won't sit at a shorthanded table.

this sounds like a good thread to chat some general FR stuff... so in the last 4 positions you play 6 max hand ranges yeh?

how much are you tightening up in even earlier position?

do FR 2p2ers raise low PPs in EP FR?

Other adjustments for someone who never plays FR if he can help it?

( sorry for my english )

im not sure if i understand what u meant.

I dont play full ring , i play on full ring tables when theres less than 6 players on it to exploit the weaknesses of the players who are there cause they are not 6max specialist.Even if the full ring table im at is short handed , i dont think players on it are short handed players cuz if they were they woulds play on 6 max.

and for your comments about playing 6max range in 4 last position on a full table (9players) i dont know cuz i just dont play on 9 players tables...but this is what i think:
If its full ring and everybody folded to the 4 last position , its not exactly the same as if its a 4 handed tables because if everybopdy folded before the chances are the last 4 players have better hands than average...but then again im not sure ....

Interesting, i doubt its as profitable as exploiting weaknesses of players @6max tables. What site are you playing at where the tables take 30min - 1 hour to fill up?

If you want to make a habit of this you should look into being a prop for an online casino. Basically, they pay you to do exactly what you're talking about doing -- play short-handed at non-full casino tables. They consider your efforts a service, since you're helping to start new tables, which allows them to fill up and makes them more money. Props usually earn rakeback, and it can be anywhere from 75% to 125% of your share of the rake at the table. Yes, I said 125% -- the casino is actually paying YOU to sit at the table, not the other way around.

I haven't looked into this in a long time, but if you do a web search you should be able to find something, if they still have it.

As to whether or not this strategy will be successful, I think it would be +EV relative to a regular six-max table, but only if you're very good at small-ball poker. You can't just tighten up and play nit -- that's what the other players are doing. You've got to be LAGgy and stealing very often for this to be profitable. That's dangerous and risky and fun and sexy and hard work and still lots of fun. If it fits your style, enjoy yourself.

Im a LAG , and i believe im a very good LAG at NL10 NL25.
I tilt a little bit too much sometimes and play very bad when i tilt but that doesnt change nothing with the subject we are talking about.
When i dont tilt im destroying those tables on Pokerstars and i dont have any programm like pockertracker but i will get it very soon.

BUTTON PUSHER : Pokerstars and soon full tilt everest and a lot more.
And i agree sometimes the table fill up very fast , but sometimes not.I play mostly the night.
and my screenname is CrAcK_N_CoKe.

When tilting : The biggest spewer of all time.
When not tilting im winning a lot with my style.
I dont know my stats since i dont have any programm , but i know that my stat are probably only good for those level , whe nim gonna move up im gonna tight up a bit since i cant outplay every one post flop like i do at NL10.
But im LAG by nature so 6max is natural for me

Im playing right now on Pokerstars , but just on one table which is rare for me , im just a little bit too tire to multi table /images/graemlins/smile.gif
