Full Tilt Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players
LegoPoker (http://www.legopoker.com)Hand History Converter (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

BTN: $4.65
Hero (SB): $10.20
BB: $11.90
UTG: $9.95

Reads:Villain was 54/8/1 over 120 hands. This was the first time I saw any sort of aggression out him. I probably had a taggy image here and hadn't been playing too many hands, but had been raising when I was getting into the pot. I don't think villain is aware of my image or range.

Pre-Flop: K/images/graemlins/spade.gif Khttp://www.legopoker.com/hh/images/diamond.gif dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG folds, BTN calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.50, BB calls $0.40, BTN folds

Flop: ($1.10) Jhttp://www.legopoker.com/hh/images/club.gif Thttp://www.legopoker.com/hh/images/diamond.gif 9http://www.legopoker.com/hh/images/diamond.gif (2 Players)
Hero bets $1, BB calls $1

Not a great flop as it hits a lot of villains range, but I feel like I need to protect my hand and put a PSB out there.

Turn: ($3.10) A/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB bets $1.45

I think this is a bad card for me. It completes draws, puts an overpair out there and is a big part of villain's range. I'm also worried about villains seemingly "here is a small bet that I want you to call" turn lead. I feel like c/c turn and c/c river is a bad line.

Hero???

That doesn't completely any draws. If he has KQ, he already had the nuts.

I'd bet / fold the turn.

You are right that a bunch of hands got there on the turn but he's so loose you can still bet for value. Don't expect a fold by any hand that caught any part of the flop including tons of draws. This turn either helped A9+, Adxd, or is a blank. Pokerstove might help but I don't want to run it. You beat 68, 89+, two diamonds without nut flush draw, Q9+, and am I leaving anything out? Either way IMO bet/fold turn. Half pot looks good to me.

This is a great flop for floating, I'd consider doing it against anyone who seems sane. Then a great card comes on the turn. If you check it, I'd definitely bet there if I were villain, even with hands like 22-77. But keep in mind that the ace might not only be scare card for you, but also for others. By checking here you are giving up IMO. If you bet like $2 it doesn't even have to work that often to be profitable based on fold equity alone.

I find these to be tough spots.

Part of me is saying that I've still got the best hand and that my loose opponent could be betting with a wide range.

The other part of me thinks that it's a marginal situation and that I shouldn't be married to a big pair, I know I can find a better spot to get money in than this.

I do realize that these types of decisions are bound to come up more and more often as I move up so getting a good idea of how to handle them at 10NL will prove invaluable when I eventually do move up.

The ace is not a good card for you but no draw came in either. So you have to bet turn there imo. If you check you're inviting villain to bet w/ any 2 cards. (I am of course done w/ the hand if I get called/raised.)

I agree with the b/f line on the turn. Bet about 2.5-3 and if he comes over the top you have to get rid of it.
