Table selection help

What I used to do was just sit a the table with a high Av. Pot. I read somewhere that I should be looking for something like 10xbb av. pot and scout the table a bit to see if there are lots of limpers and raises being called.
Is this all cool? , and anything you can add?

I jut look for tables with stacks averaging >100BB (6 max). No more than 1 short stack (<50BB) and no more than 1 big stack (>300BB). Short stacks can be difficult to play against if they know how to play. Big stacks are typically owned by good players or very tight players. And loose players become tight once they've tripled up.
