i know i should have made a stronger raise pf but the table WAS playing tight before this hand

I don't see anybody playing a set like this against several opponents on such a dry board. Mostly they'll try to milk it for maximum value. I think this is AQ or a straight draw almost always. If it folds back around I think it's a call. If you get a caller, then you might consider a fold but I'm not sure I could do it.

He ended up having Qd 7d and blanked the turn and river so i took the 50$ pot. It was still weird though.

you have 50bb and an overpair. if he has a set so be it
