Ok so I obviously have a hard time giving up my pocket pairs just because the ace hits. Is it weak play or can I get someone to fold any non-AK ace?

UTG ($28.31)
MP ($26.92)
Hero ($24.40)
SB ($26.53)
BB ($17.29)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, K/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $3.75</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls $2.75.

Flop: ($7.85) 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $1.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4.5</font>, UTG calls $3.

Trying to raise to represent AK or AA, but he called, he's obviously got at least an ace.

Turn: ($16.85) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, Hero checks

River: ($16.85) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $2.25</font>, Hero calls $2.25.

Final Pot: $21.35

Crying call on the river, wouldn't call any more than 3$ and I just wanted to know if it was really AK. This is probably a leak though, I doubt he has anything I beat often enough to give me odds. The only thing that I could do differently is bet again (shove) on the turn but I really don't think any bet would not be called by someone calling the flop raise.

Don't raise that flop, you only will get called by better hands.
Just call and evaluate on the turn.

Raising this flop is really bad

Why are you raising the flop? This raise will be called by better hands and will fold out all the hands which you beat. Not a good move.

I hate the fact that he has bet this flop but I just call here and try and get to showdown. Its difficult for him to put money in this pot with a hand which you beat (Basically only QQ) so just try and show it down and fold to pressure.

Just call the flop. Raising won't accomplish anything.

The thing is that I just don't see this hand getting to showdown, anyone betting the flop is going to bet again on the turn if I just call, and I'm pretty much drawing to 2 outs. This means that I might just as well fold on the flop.

My reason for raising was that I thought any really good hand would try to checkraise me since I raised preflop so I saw betting out as a weaker play.

Probably I just suck too much to fold my pockets as soon as an overcard flops, but then this might help me fix a leak.

He's betting more than ace on the flop. You don't raise cause then if you do that you narrow his range to an ace or better since he folds everything else....except possibly a flush draw especially to that weak raise.

But the point is you don't want to fold out the hands you beat by raising the flop.
