Pot Size: $3.69 ($0.05 Rake)

---I am oop, against a player who I have no info on, I just freshly joined the game. I really wanted to re-raise, but I didn't wanna commit myself to a pot where an opponent is showing me so much strength and I'm oop. I am strongly against calling due to it's show of weakness, and seemingly, my only option becomes raise or fold. Was this a good fold? Would a re-raise have been better?

Calling is standard for me here against an unknown. Until I develop a read, I will not 4bet him. Once I know (by stats) what kind of player he is, and how aggro he is preflop, I will 4bet a lot of times. However, calling doesn't necessarily mean weak. Folding is pretty lol.

I would re-raise here.

Don't call AK oop -- raise or dump it generally. It might be fine in the micro-micro's, but as a good rule as you move up it's a good one to know.

Generally, you're committed once you've 4bet or pushed (ldo). If you can gauge your villain, try to think which one is more likely to get you a fold (vs when you have AA/KK -- which is more likely to get you a call...).

I honestly don't know how much this helps at 5NL, however.
