View Full Version : What do you make of minraises?

Say I'm on the CO with AJo and I bring it in for a standard raise. Button minraises me and SB + BB fold. Do I throw this away or just flat call? (I understand that position is also important here so it would be a different story if SB or BB minraised)

I never know what to do in these situations but I understand that if Button is very loose it's most likely an easy call, MAYBE even a reriase if he's a maniac.

Any input would be good. I know minbets don't usually happen at the higher limits, but down here at 10NL and 25NL they happen a good amount and I don't know how exactly to react to it.

I call and play fit or fold.

I would always call here, you get good odds to see a flop you can get money from a bad player. Just be careful and don't end up giving him your money because you hit a QJx flop and he slowrolls aces.
Call him, check most flop and go from there.

i think it is very player dependant

i minraise at 10-25nl with the nuts

if its a blind battle i see people minraising with like mid or bottom pair a fair amount

in your case i probably fold, your out of position, aj is pretty marginal against anything someone will raise ur raise with, unless he has been doing this to you alot let it go

what flops do you like here?

ajx aax and jjx are the only ones i'm comfortable with

you arent getting very good odds to flop one of those

well if you fold all hands oop less than AQs+ then I would minraise you all the time, so cheap to get your money.
I call here because I don't think villain has a good hand all the time. You have good odds to get a flop which villain is not comfortable with and take the pot on the flop.
Jxx is fine and I can extract money from a lot of hands here.

Thanks for the quick advice. Yeah I agree to probably see a flop and c/f if I miss (especially OOP)
