my standard line pre is to raise/fold, i don't really like calling with a player that posted out of turn and the blinds behind me.

flop i stack off getting 3.5-1 against a shorty.

Grunch, I call.

You're calling $8.10 to win $28.10 so you're getting around ~3.5:1 on your call (please check my maths because this is pretty new to me).
So this needs to be a FD ~25% to be profitable.

Please tell me if I've worked this out right as my maths is a bit rusty.

Edit: Cos it's late and I suck at maths

ok 8 goes into 28 3.5 times i thought that made it 2.5:1 not 3.5:1 my bad lol

Edit: yeah when I think about it 3.5 = pot : 1 = your call.
Makes sense, its been a long night almost 6am here.

wtf

why would you raise half his stack if you didn't want to get all in? Were you hoping he would fold?

Yes you call here.

Once you raise him your commited and you have to call, even though most of the time your probably behind. But, that doesn't matter cause your committed. So next time don't raise the early better half his stack if you feel you don't want to get him all in. If you had reads this would be so much easier of course.
