You don't have to cbet on every single flop, especially bad ones like this one.

Its a good flop for cbet.

I think a cbet is almost immediately profitable. Villain's range is pp's and AQ/AK type hands, most of that range is folding. You're unknown to villain, which I've noticed tends to make them more cautious in the first few hands in general until they see you play.

Hero bets $8 or so and shuts down.

This is a good flop to cbet...

I don't like it. You beat a lot of MP's most likely holdings - small and mid pairs. The flop is scary to you, and very scary to MP if he is without an Ace. Fire away, I think you take this down majority of the time.

I think that, being that you were new to the table, you should've just called PF and check/folded the flop with TT.

OTOH, if you had been at the table a while and had some kind of read...

LOL at this being a bad flop to cbet. Unless you typed in chat "I am 3betting with TT here, k" then he's gotta put you on an ace-type hand and surrender this pot.

Playing TT for set value on a hand that went PF here is wrong. Take the initiative PF, be the agressor, and CB practically every single flop.
