Would just calling the turn bet be more profitable?

i think it just depends on the villain. obviously his most likely hand here is an overpair, so if villain probably can't lay one down, then of course you have to raise. against a lot of people i'll call the turn here though. an overpair is drawing thin, and when tops pairs on the board, its such a huge scare card. if we had middle or bottom and made trips, i like a raise a lot more.

I think it's fine. I'd actually raise a bit more on the turn. if he has 66 or 33 that sucks, but I doubt villain has a 7. This is probably an over pair.

I have to disagree here. I really can't put villain on a 7. I doubt he raises A7 from UTG+1, and thats the only hand I'm worried about with a 7 in it. The only hands I'm worried about here is 66 and 33. I'm willing to get it in here and stack his over pair.

huh? i don't think villain has a 7. i just mean that some villains fold an overpair to a turn raise pretty easily.
