Going to LA next month for the LA Poker classic. What are my best options for hotel stays near or at the cardrooms? Any of these places have player rates?

Don't know about player rates but my suggestion is unless you can book at Commerce itself I would suggest the 20 minute drive and stay around Disneyland or Knott's Berry farm. The hotels and surrounding area is much better than the dark and trashy areas around Commerce

The Commerce has a hotel. They have player rates (but I don't know how much). It's also a few minutes from the Bike and near the freeway which will make going to the other casinos easier.

The Commerce hotel across the street from the casino

Commerce Casinos hotel is like $100 a night. I have seen the Wyndham down the street for as cheap as $60 a night through their internet site. You will need a car as walking the 5 blocks or so with lots of cash really is a good way to get yourself killed.

Don't stay at the place across the street. Also not a very safe walk although its only a block.

Let me clarify...its not like Commerce Casino is in some crap area...its in an industrial area with few people out at night other than those going to the casino. But its near relatively shady areas of East LA, Montebello, Paramount, and City of Commerce itself. The possibility of some thugs driving by and figuring any person walking away from Commerce might have money is too great to walk those areas. Kinda how LA itself it. Commerce Casino property itself is very safe. Tons of security including constant parking lot patrols and guards standing in the towers and actually paying attention. Actually, come to think of it, security is one thing that Commerce does exceptionally well.
