I have an interesting decision that arises a few hands after this one with the same villain. I think everything is standard until he pushes the flop. What is your decision based on the previous hand? Note: based on that first hand i put him down as blind defender w/ ATC.

SB bets $1, Hero calls $1.

Turn: ($4.25) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
SB bets $2, Hero raises to $5.5, SB calls $3.50.

River: ($15.25) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $9, SB calls $9.

Final Pot: $33.25

Results in white below: 
SB has 2s 2h (two pair, fives and twos).
Hero has Ts Th (two pair, tens and fives).
Outcome: Hero wins $33.25. 

Here is the hand in question that occurs in the CO. Standard steal to try and take down the blinds but our friend defends again. Sorry, FTR wouldnt convert partial hands correctly.

when someone passive small bets / 3-bets it's often a big hand.

If he was deeper this is a clear fold, but we are getting 2:1 on our money now, so this is pretty tough. I have a strong feeling that we should fold here actually. But at the time I probably call (incorrectly).

First hand: Why didn't you raise flop? There's flush draws + straight draws out there, any overcard is gonna look scary for you, I want to end it right there. I also raise at least 3x on turn.

Second hand: Raise more. 3x is the bare minimum, I make it like 4 to go right there. As played, I think this is a fold.

Where did i say he was passive? I just said he was a blind defender w/ ATC.

By raising, i play my hand face up (some sort of overpair). I want to give him a chance to trap himself on some superweak holding (thinking that i have just AK-AJ). An overcard *MAY* be a scarecard, but i play very aggressive. Basically, any card over than an ace im raising him on the turn (if you think people are going to defend as light as Q9, Q5, and Q3 then its a raise on the flop, but otherwise i like to try and trap and play a bit tricky from time to time.) Based on all this info, I think thats why hand 2 is very interesting.

This was my exact line of thought... defends either blind (sb or bb) with a wide range. His pushing range would include a lot of draws, TPWK, and any suited jack (which we could very well be ahead of). Based on all this info, I called largely because he had shown a willingness to call with very weak hands OOP and because he was a shortstacker (all shortstackers please die in hell).
