No read on villain, I just sat down at this table a few hands ago.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker (http://www.legopoker.com) Hand History Converter (http://www.legopoker.com/hh))

SB: $7.25
BB: $40.80
Hero (UTG): $25.00
MP: $36.00
CO: $24.30
BTN: $42.25

Preflop: Hero is dealt J/images/graemlins/club.gif T/images/graemlins/club.gif (6 Players)
<font color="red">Hero raises to $0.85</font>, 4 folds, BB calls $0.60

Flop: ($1.80) T/images/graemlins/spade.gif J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 Players)
<font color="red">BB bets $1.80</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $5.00</font>, BB calls $3.20

Turn: ($11.80) 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($11.80) 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 Players)
<font color="red">BB bets $11.80</font>, Hero ???

I'm mainly afraid of trips here, thats why I checked behind for pot control. Is this wrong? I probably can't fold on the river, but should I push or just call?

donīt think a 3 is a big part of his range.

How many hands that call an UTG raise contains a 3? How often does bottom pair donkbet and call a flop raise?

I don't think a 3 is even a small part of his range. I might fear a 3 because you now lose to QQ+ but I really don't see how I can give him credit for that.

I'd at least call this river bet too.

easy call, your checked behind the turn so you have to call the river bet and your hand is good against his range.
