river bet amount

I figured hes got a flush draw or maybe a pair(fish). WHen the river comes blank I put the FD out of the way and I started thinking what my best play would be if he had called me down so far with a pair. Is that big bet gonna be called by fishes or should I have valued bet it?

This is the sort of bet i would make myself on a busted draw or a weak hand like second pair i was now turning into a bluff. Since you're on the opposite end of the spectrum i bet 2/3 pot.

The good thing about these big bets is they dont need to be called too often to make them quite profitable. I'd still be tempted to make a smaller bet here though, The villain hasnt shown any strength and I have no reason to believe he will call a pot sized bet. I would probably bet 1/3 to 1/2 of the pot and expect to be paid more often than not.

I would def be value betting here 2/3 pot. if you are going to pot it on the river you might as well push and get the extra 20bbs, since anyone calling here is going to call the extra $11.
