View Full Version : TPTK, am I missing value here?

Villains line confused me so much here I just called, am I loseing value here or does a raise only get called by a better hand? Does Villain sometimes have a fishy played monster, or should I be jamming it in on the river? Also, the turn, should I be raising here also?

My thinking here is anything from air to a slow played flopped set to a flush draw (I often see them bet this way, usually followed by a much larger river bet, though), to ace-ten which then made aces up...

I don't like the flop raise. Either make it like $7+, or call it. It kinda screams "I'm going for the B3B line," even though he didn't.

Raise turn.

Yes, if you are going to bluff raise the flop you have to follow up when you hit. It is pretty obvious he is blocking the turn because he is scared of the ace.

I thought so, I planned to raise any bet on the river (Felt this was the best way to extract value as he wasn't calling a turn raise unless I was beat but was betting the river more often than not, possibly calling a VB if not), but his 75c bet just confused me.

Looking back over it, I can see how utterly horribly the hand was played, I was just wondering if villain ever takes this hand with something that has me crushed.

Always raise the turn there, the bet just says "I have a draw, please let me draw for cheap"

Mmm I think mookboi has it down pretty well there

What does everyone think about the river as played though? Obviously that kind of bet doesn't often indicate a strong hand, but loads of draws just got there and he's unlikely to call a big bet with a lower pair (unless, possibly, he just cold-called KK or QQ pre-flop and can't let go of it.) Maybe raise it to 1/2 pot?

Agreed, what card were you hoping to hit on the turn?
If it wasn't the A i don't know what you were doing there in the first place.

Raise the turn, don't be shy.

It feel like he was on a flush draw and was blocking.
