I just read the interesting FT/UB post below and was wondering myself about the tempting bonii at Full Tilt and Absolute. I'm a NL 25 guy and was wondering
1. Are the games too tough at both places it's not even worth it and
2. Is the rake at NL 25 too low to ever earn a bonus.
Thanks for your help.

I have no experience with FT/UB but Absolute is pretty much a rock garden. And since they increased the clearing requirements you have to play a ton more hands just to clear a lousy $10.00. Rakeback helps but I clear all other pending bonuses before I hit Absolute.

I reloaded at Absolute 1st time since change to bonus. Understandably the 1/2 sucked, but even the 3/6 and 5/10 is tighter than before. I withdrew after a few hours...much easier games and bonuses elsewhere.

it will take forever to clear the bonus at FullTilt playing NL$25

Thanks for the advice, rakeback or no rakeback, I'll look elsewhere.

NL 25 will be a slow. I have seen 6 max that cleared pretty well at that size, but you have to stay on top of it. At full table it's pretty hopeless. 2-4 limit any game clears quickly. This is all AP. Don't know FT.

Dont even bother with it. It will take you a month to clear $15 on ft playing 25nl. As other posters stated absolute has to hit a $10 pot before you get a point toward the bonus so that obviously wont clear fast either.

If/when you get to the 50NL game it should be worth it

I measure efficiency by looking at the rake paid compared to bonus earned.

At Absolute the rake is really terrible in the limit games and preposterously terrible in the NL games. The most efficient way to earn the bonus is in the full table (9 player) 1-2 games.

The 2-4 games allow you earn the bonus a lot faster, but it's not nearly as efficient. Also, the 2-4 games are spotty.

I played 1200 2-4 hands and 4300 1-2 hands coming out a whopping $4 ahead. I paid $227 in rake, but earned 452MGR and got $126 in rake back in addition to the $300 bonus. My guess is about 6500 hands of 1-2 would earn you the full bonus for less than $200 in rake.

I don't play limit much, so if you're a better player then you could come out farther ahead. A warning though, only 2 of 25 players for whom I have 600 hands are ahead, the rake is that brutal. The only 4 players who are ahead more than a hundred after 200 hands or more are absolute donks (mid 20's in volume) who just got lucky.

Maybe this will help.

I think you have severely overestimated the impact of rake at Absolute. Yes, it's high, but bonus and RB more than make up for it at higher levels.

You are correct that 2/4 has gotten spotty, but I see more and more 3/6 tables every day, both full and 6 max. If you can play at that level, it's worth it. Not sure I'd try anything lower.
