Now, I wanna avoid these difficult situations a bit more in the future. Should I be 3 betting the flop? I seem to of turned into some sort of weaktight wussy.

Also way I played it anybody call river?

For some reason which I wont explain here I figured that I was ahead so called.

I wouldn't 3-bet the flop. If Party plays anything like Stars, that min-checkraise represents a strong hand. (It's worse than facing a min-raise, which is more ambiguous.)

Since the turn bet is smallish, I would probably call again, knowing that there was a good chance I was falling into Villain's trap, but I think the big river bet would get me to fold. On a different river card, I'd be more tempted to call (although folding could still possibly be best), but now all of a sudden I'm not even beating QJ.

Just decide on the flop if you're committed. You don't want to be putting almost half the effective stack in when you aren't committed. That is, the $3.5 call on the turn is just a spew if you're not going to call his river push (especially when you consider how aggressive he is - he's not checking the river). Either push the turn if you're committed or fold. The turn card is great if you've seen this guy bet on a flush draw before.

As played, you are crushed on the river - fold.
