TPTK 4-way Flop In Position vs. Weak-Tight Opponents

Was playing some micro in the background tonight while I finished some work. Ran into the following situation I wasn't sure how to deal with.

Opponents are all essentially Weak-Tight. CO has been seen (once) hitting a monster on turn and check/calling b4 betting river, but to be honest I wasn't really thinking much about reads at this point, just that they were WT.

Option 1:
Hero bets for value. It's a bit tricky because their still are two players in the hand. But they both just called ur flop raise. This might mean they are drawing or they need to improve. They also might have a J with a medium kicker.

Option 2:
Hero checks behind, hoping to get to a cheap showdown.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. This behavior was uncharacteristic for both of them, so I knew they must have *something*, which is what gave me pause. But draws or weaker Jacks seemed likely. Two pair seemed unreasonable unless someone was playing 23s. A set was possible but again seemed unlikely given the passive action. So I figured there was a reasonable chance my hand might still be good.

Here's the rest of the hand. So you guys think I played this fine?

Results:
Final pot: $5.84

Again, I figured the river probably didn't help BB, but at this point I felt like I had invested enough in the hand and just wanted a showdown. If he had a busted draw I wasn't gonna get any more out of him anyway, and if not he was either going to call or raise, and one pair wasn't a hand I wanted to pump any more money into.

Results:

BB flipped over JQ for two-pair, beating my AJ.

My main question is whether I could have saved money at any point along the way... Micro-stakes aside, was this hand worth wagering half a buy-in? If not, how do you keep this pot small? Looking back now my play seems pretty reasonable...

you're being results oriented, you would have to put him specifically on JQ in order for you not to push this and considering BB doesn't even have a PSB left, it's an easy push.

I would have bet 2-2.5 on turn to discourage draws and make the most money out of a weaker jack.
