View Full Version : We're playing into party's hands!! Acceller-8-tor bonus not worth it

I'm going to forget about the bonus going forward. That's right, I said it. Forget it. I was reading the thread above about the guy that needed 5500 points in 27 hours. Your bonus must be huge to put yourself through the trauma of multityabling that many tables for 9 hours. Are you really going to be playing your best game? Hope the bonus makes up for what you lose/failed to win because you were scrambling.

My point is, we're playing right into party's hands here. The more tables you play, the less the quality of your play is and the more you're paying to the rake.

I do way better playing 2 (or even 1 if it's a good table) effectively than scrambling on 4,5,6 tables just trying to build up points.

Just my thoughts, feel free to use the following retorts:

"you must not like free money"

"What a fish, only one table at once?"

"Take your comment and shove it up your @#$%!"

Your affiliate must be ashamed of you with that defeatist attitude!

Play more! Play longer! Play until your wife walks out of your life (and you don't even notice)!

My game has suffered, for sure, and along with a horrible run I'm not enjoying it too much. Still, it's worth it overall. Sort of. Probably. I hope.

Anyway, yeah, all you TAGs should stop playing the 2/4 to 5/10 Limit game. For sure.

The problem I am having is that the points update the next day and most of my hands are played between 9p-12a pacific. So they really update 2 days later for me and I don't know where I am at.

Ditto from me re: not enjoying it. I found myself dreading the game. I finally decided after the first week, when I ended up stuck and still 400 points short, that I couldn't do it. If I sit out the rest of the 8 weeks, will the next bonus offer give me a more sensible goal and reward?

Actually, you bring up one of my primary concerns. Although my game is suffering due to the incredibly large volume, I am plowing through it and meeting my goals (6300 pts/week). I am very concerned that my next offer is going to be based on the ridiculous amount of playing time that I have to put in to meet these requirements. I am seriously overextending myself as it is.

I gave up on atleast this weeks bonus a couple of days ago, just wanna play my game 100% safe so I went down too 2/4 SH from 3/6 since its so much softer, and of course my 7300 point goal a week is impossible to reach there... feels like crap..

I understand some offers were not attainable. Mine is relatively reasonable, but even increasing it by 10-20% would not be worth it. The offer's not big enough.

how many people have been killed by downswings chasing this thing?

Mine I felt okay offer 2775 in points for 130. Just moved up a level in sit n go's a little scrambling but told the wife deal with it for 8 weeks I'll give you $500. All is well now.

I've been running good and my goal isn't unreasonable. I have had to play more tables. But, I have been making sure not to go over my points by much so that they don't jack my next bonus goal way up like some I have read. Anyone else doing this?

News-flash:
Some people have good offers. Other people do not.

If you have a bad offer then it's not worth it.
If you have a good offer then it is.

I have no idea about the people chasing 5k points on their final day.

If it's for a $1k bonus then it's probably worth it.
If it's to finish off a $290 bonus then it probably isn't.

Use your best judgement. Your mileage may vary.

If you're not willing to 10-table 10 hours a day, you're obviously not the kind of player Party is looking for.

I guess it is a good thing that they never made me an offer then...

Granted I only play 2-4 but I am finding my bonus impossible to clear. I have played 11k hands in the last 2 days and around 1500 hands the other days and I still did not finish mine. I think it's impossible playign 2-4 6 max.

So you're scrambling for 8 weeks with an annoyed wife for 540 bucks after you give her 500 of your total 1040 dollar bonus. Interesting choice.

2/4 6-max is one of the worst limit to gather points (of the lower limits). Even 1/2 6-max is better. And 3/6 is about twice as good.

If you are using PokerTracker it's very easy to check how many points you have gathered. Just filter the Game Notes tab for raked hands and click Get All. Then you just need to know how many points you get for each raked hand.

I agree, it's totally not worth it. I did the bonus the first two weeks, and were faced with both incredibly good runs and bad runs as well. The difference for me is that when I had a bad streak, I would continue playing so that I could get my bonus, telling myself that this could be worth 340$ if I just continued to do it every week... So last week I played MUCH less then I'm used to, and intend to do so the last couple of weeks...

My point target was quite harsch to... 1650 points for 85$, playing at the NL tables this is a real hard mess for me to clear..

I gave up last week. Played my butt off Tuesday, went on a 50BB downswing and still didn't get enough to clear the bonus.

From now on, I play my game like I always did and quit when I hit XBB, lose XBB or my time limit comes up. If I hit/don't hit the bonus, so be it.

When I want to really get some points for the week I head to the 3/6 jackpot tables. I find the fishy play cancells out the extra jackpot rake and you get 15PP for every 20 hands. Much better than the 6 for mu normal 2/4 game

Dude, I 8 table and that's normal for me. So that's overall optimal EV.

My bonus is $515 for 2,745 points, so if I do 200% I get $1,030. I will GLADLY traded 5,490 party points for $1,030.

I play NL only though. Have had my account for 2+ years with activity every month. And I only play 3/6NL or higher.

I've had this account back in the days when NL 200 didn't even exsist.
