View Full Version : NL10: An opportunity to belittle my play

One of my first few hands at the table, so no read on villain. I know this is a bad play all around, but I'd love to here opinions on where I should have gotten out of this hand -- was it dumb to call with this hand in position? Should I just have folded post-flop when the c-bet came? When the turn brought the straight flush, should I have just checked hoping for a free card? Once he re-raises, am I committed to the call?

Thanks, and while I encourage you to be as critical as necessary, please leave my mother out of this. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

After you failed to steal the pot on the flop you shoulda put the brakes on. Check behind the turn and take the free card.

I don't really mind the turn, in theory you sometimes ought to continue representing a strong hand, the 2c is a scarecard of sorts and you have (hopefully) picked up loads of outs

I wouldn't have the guts to do it myself though and I don't think it's necessary at 10NL. Doing it without any reads doesn't strike me as great either

Also, fold pre-flop

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes my play just gets so fishy. Good to be kept in line.

I think pf is the most clear-cut bad decision in this hand. Both the flop and turn follow from that insanely bad call. A7o is so far off what you can even consider calling with.
