Villian here after 30 hands was 28/0/2.5.

SB ($12.25)
BB ($17.85)
UTG ($24.90)
MP ($25.05)
CO ($11.30)
Hero ($32.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $6.75</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP folds, CO folds, <font color="#0000FF">Hero...</font>

This may be a very basic question, but the villian hasn't raised preflop the entire time he has been at the table. All of a sudden he re-raises me big. I'm putting him on AA-JJ, AK, AKo. My image has not been overagressive by any means while he has been at the table, so I can't think he thinks I'm stealing here.

I should just push the rest here right? If I just call preflop, he will probably go all-in on the flop no matter what comes. That leaves me with 4 to 1 to call even if an A or K hits.

I think I fold here. Given your description, I don't think he reraises here with JJ. I don't think a call is profitable here.

If he had a full stack, I probably let it go given your description.

But since he's only got half a stack, I feel a moral obligation to put him all in - I think his range is going to be wider than what you listed.

In this hand, villan is in the SB so he probably feels pressured (assuming he is a thinking player) to get the hand over with before the flop where he will be oop. Another thing to consider is that villan only has 1/2 a stack.

Given your range

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 47.366% 45.79% 01.58% 27440794 945878.00 { QcQs }
Hand 1: 52.634% 51.06% 01.58% 30598090 945878.00 { JJ+, AKs, AKo }

If you think villian has a tighter raising range as indicated by not raising preflop in 30 hands, then

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 39.857% 39.64% 00.22% 19005028 104399.00 { QcQs }
Hand 1: 60.143% 59.92% 00.22% 28730686 104399.00 { KK+, AKs, AKo }

you are behind.

Given that I don't like to flip or be behind for stacks, and calling is not really an option since as you said he will push any flop, this is a fold for me.

I would rarely fold this to a short stack over such a small sample.

he has effectively pushed.

now we have a pot odds problem. 12.25+2.50=14.75 in the pot, 10.25 to call. 1:1.2.... 1/(1+1.2)=need 45% equity to call.

We're in the right ballpark. Push it.

The hero made a really big raise PF, so I really doubt the guy is 3 betting with anything QQ beats. At best I think you're racing with AK, but I think if you push you're going to see KK/AA here a lot.

I have zero respect for shortstackers, all in.
