Help with the book, newbie question, NLHTAP

Hi, on page 208 of the green book,, NLHTAP, I am running into confusion comprehending the charts. Can soemone explain to me how and what the table one is for? And as for table two, how do I apply it to my game? Can soemone give me at least one example of that chart in action, then I will get the hang of it. Thank you, and sorry this isnt a hand post, I am just really confused here.

I understood it to be a tiered translation from general categories (very tight, tight, average, etc...) to likely hands those categories you're all-in opponent might be playing. The last chart is the range of hands for calling depending on the pot odds you are getting.
