Pokerstars .25/.50, 6-max.

Villain is LAG-ish, somewhat solid, but has been caught in some bluffs. Probably about 28/18/3. Hero is a little tighter than that. Both have 2 BI, so effective stacks are $100.

Hero opens UTG for $2 with A/images/graemlins/club.gifA/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 1 fold, Villain (CO) calls, button calls, blinds fold.

Flop ($6) (3 players): 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif
Hero bets $4.50, Villain raises to $14, button folds, Hero calls.

Turn ($34) (2 players): 8/images/graemlins/club.gif
Hero checks, Villain bets $25, Hero calls.

River ($84) (2 players): 4/images/graemlins/club.gif
Hero checks, Villain bets $59 (all-in), Hero ???

Comments on all streets appreciated. Please include likely range of Villain.

I don't think you can check-call the turn without planning to call the river as well. You also should consider whether your opponent would play a lone 8 like that on the flop (making a good-sized raise right away on the flop like that). You should also consider whether he would do that with a draw, since many players (especially at the lower limits) will automatically just smooth-call and slowplay a big hand like two pair or better. So since he probably doesn't have an 8 (because he probably wouldn't play it so fast by raising like that on the flop) and since he probably wouldn't raise right away with a two pair or better, I think you continue with the hand cautiously, in a fashion that will prevent you from being bluffed. The best way to accomplish this is to bet out on the turn and fold to a raise. If you were deeper, a check-min-raise might also work, unless you think your opponent might just re-push all-in if he has a draw. Either way, because it is unlikely he would play a lone 8 so fast on the flop, I think you should bet out on the turn and fold to a raise.

Caught in what kind of bluffs? What kind of history do you have with hi?

Hero caught Villain in a 3-street bluff, where Villain raised pf with Ax, and Hero had AK oop (a King came on the flop or turn). Villain made the same sized bets as in this hand -- about 2/3 - 3/4 the pot on the turn and river. Also, Villain had been seen a couple of times making 2 barrel bluffs after raising pf.

Hero and Villain don't have much history beyond that, maybe 100 hands together.
