Am I doing something terribly wrong in these two hands, or did villain's just not have anything?

In this first one, Button is the real target at the table. 80/40/3 over like 40 hands.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com (http://www.internettexasholdem.com)

SB ($15.25)
BB ($48.85)
UTG ($7.45)
Hero ($10.55)
CO ($1.05)
Button ($19.20)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.5, 1 fold, Button calls $0.50, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.40.

Flop: ($1.65) Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)
UTG bets $0.1, Hero raises to $1.5, Button folds, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $3.25

And then this one. Is the lead just too obviously a set?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com (http://www.internettexasholdem.com)

BB ($7.75)
UTG ($22.90)
MP ($10.45)
CO ($7.05)
Button ($4.50)
Hero ($10.70)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 3/images/graemlins/club.gif.
1 fold, MP calls $0.10, CO raises to $0.4, Button calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.35, 1 fold, MP calls $0.30.

Flop: ($1.70) 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif (4 players)

Far from terribly wrong. Hand one I would just downsize the raise a bit, the board is dry lets suck villain in. Hand #2, I don't like the overbet, I'd rather lead for pot or 3/4ths.

Villains just didn't have anything

See Derosnec post about people donk/folding when you've got a monster...

Here's how you stack someone: flop top set when he flops middle set.

Seriously, though, there's nothing you can do. If they don't have anything, you're SOL. In the first hand, the board is dry enough to just call and let them catch up. In the second hand, you weren't winning anything.

For hand two is leading better then checkraising? I almost always just checkraise, but that is probably just because I played limit for so long.

You have position in hand 1, and he has junk. Call and let him catch up on the turn. Raise there or go to the river depending on what he does and what the card is.

In hand 2 leading is fine, but overbetting is not. I'm leading for 2/3 - 3/4 pot, jamming over a raise. I wouldn't c/r CO here because of MP. I think you can get more money in the pot by leading out, because if you c/r CO then MP is gone.

I like leading, because top pair will likely raise here. A check-raise will usually win you a small bet. A lead-reraise will win you a big bet.

You can't call in hand 1 because you're going to be raising that min-donk with all kinds of crap so you'd better do it with your good hands as well

For God's sake, don't start flatcalling in hand 1 to "keep customers interested."

Hands were played fine, but bet 1.50 on hand 2 instead of overbetting.

First one your line is the only line.

Second one, yes you probably should fire big since villains have a real wide calling range on this particular flop (Qx, Kx, lotsa draws) but I'm not sure I'd overbet. I bet $1.55 or so.

maybe in Hand 1 raise less on the flop(maybe). if you raise to, say, .8 and get one caller, then pot is 3.25 on turn. then you can bet 2 on the turn, and get all in for pot-sized bet on the river. yeah, you end up charging straight draws less, but i think (at this point in my life) that this is more +EV than a bigger raise . now, if the flop was Q high, i wouldn't mind a bigger raise because you'll get called down more. and if flop is all low cards, then it's open season and i'm getting in as much as i can because people call more.

but with that said, i still maintain (from my experience at leat) that it's tough as nails to extract against donk bets.

bet less on the flop in 2, other than that fine.
