If poker was exempted I would not actively letter write or donate money for the other. However I would follow what was going on and it would influence my voting habits.

I think online gambling should be allowed but I don't think engaging in it is a good idea for me or 95%+ of the population, so I wouldn't actively fight for it.

And this my friends is exactly why gamblers as a group don't band together so well. Self serving, not my problem attitude.

I personally want all of it allowed, it sucks to see the post just above, it even supports the 'nanny' attitude.

I would support it, but I wouldn't be actively writing letters and calling. This is obviously a very selfish stance, but if only poker is legal then it might encourage those gamblers that would normally just stick to blackjack or some other casino game to spend their money playing poker.

Poker needs super easy access to get the games going, while sports betting/casino type games do not. I may do something, but not as much as now.

Myself, I would continue some, that battle would get easier over time with poker legal.

I would fight, but like ugly said, you don't need a lot of players for sports or casino action. I would vote or lobby for sports betting, because I think the attendant ills are worse being underground than above. Casinos online, as Ive always backed the middle class jobs brick and mortar casinos bring. I am neutral on. Basically, I take a freedom and consumer value line.

Poker is not gambling and that is why it is a game of skill.

People should be allowed to do whatever they want with there money. If they have a gambling problem its not up to the House to keep them from it.

There are so many things wrong with the current state of affairs that one has to pick and choose the ones to give extra effort to fighting.

The short, honest answer to your question is no, if poker were exempt I would not continue to fight. I would continue to support legal access to online gambling as a matter of libertarian principle, but letter writing, monetary donations and personal activism would go elsewhere.

A little selfish but true.

As far as "fighting" goes, yes I would exert the same amount of effort now that I do on poker (which is very little - in September/October I was doing more). Hello, casino bonus whoring anyone?

Please, re-join the effort as we seem to be making real progress and every voice helps!

I would, although I would not fight nearly as hard.

I'd still like to have the option to bonus whore the casino games, but at the same time wouldn't want my fish to lose their money to a casino as opposed to poker. Not sure which would have a greater effect on me.

I don't care to play blackjack online or slots. And wouldn't care if they banned online casino games. However, if someone wants to play some 5 dollar blackjack after they get home from work or a 20 dollar poker tourney it's none of my business and definitly isn't any of our governments business. And as a matter of principal I believe we should stick together and fight for all online gaming.

I'm not in the U.S., but that would actually be the preferred situation in my view to have the EV- games banned and skill games like poker allowed.

As a poker player i would be against it.
The polical winds in the United States seem to blow back and forth as we are painfully aware. If we are ever able to get poker back in the country in a more acceptable way, having online casino gambling available would only make it more vulnerable again if our freinds in the fof camp find the political situation more favorable to there misguided cause.
Is that selfish? i dont think so. Pragmatic at best, but I truely believe poker is a skill game. To be lumped into the same group as slot jockeys in the public eye just doesnt serve our interest.

I'm undecided. On the one hand, casino gambling brings a lot of donks into the poker room who wouldn't normally be there. This is why the sportsbook/casino sites traditionally have softer games than the pure poker sites. However, there's also the other side of the story that casino and sports gambling take money from the fish and ship it to the site operators rather than the sharkies. My continued efforts would depend on which effect was larger. I would certainly never oppose legalized casino/sports gambling online.

I would care, but not put much effort forth. I think people should spend their money however they feel (provided they aren't infringing on individual rights).

I strongly feel that all forms of gambling should be legalized, but poker would be the only one I would actively fight for. I would certainly sign any petition etc. to legalize other gambling, but I wouldn't go as far as calling represenatives like I have in the past for poker.

why the [censored] would you fight for casino and sports to be legal? realize that, if gambers only outlet is poker, then there will be a ton more dead money in the poker world.

If poker is exempt then I don't really care. I would still like to have an online sportsbook account, but w/e. I really think online blackjack and roulette are pretty evil things and could care less if they are banned. Games against the house are more easily abused than poker imo, and it's more dead money for us grinders as the previous poster stated /images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Then again there is the civil rights issue, so if people are stupid enough to blow their rent splitting K's, let em.
