Villian is pretty new to table, I only have 40 hands on him. Villian is 26/9/1.0

I considered checking the turn for pot control, but decided against it after he flat called the flop (J9, JK), so I bet half pot to make him pay for drawing. After the pot size reraise, I put him on 55, J9cc, KJcc or a slowplayed QT/TT/33. Is there any chance he smooth calls KQ on the flop and reraises the turn?

Also, Question 2, as a generality, if a player is way overbetting for value (ie raises to 20BB with 66+ and AK,AQ,KQ type hands, and overbet shoves postflop when he hits big) whats the best way to counter that? I started tightening up waiting for a JJ+ type hand to limp/shove with, but I was cold decked all night.

Should I be calling with lesser hands and bluffing post flop?

sometimes I bet/call, sometimes bet fold, sometimes c/r ... I guess if he hasn't been active at all, fold the first time and put a note.
