SO i am heading to vegas in a few weeks for a 7 nite stay or so and since i get very bored with live poker, i was thinking of bringing my laptop down with me to make some money without grinding it out for hours on end in the poker room. I am a Canadian who plays mainly on party poker and i was wondering if i am allowed to play on party poker while i am in the USA. if anyone knows what the legality is on my situation id appreciate any feedback.

just play on tilt or stars while in the states

I believe party frowns greatly on doing what you want to do

They block any IP addresses from the US, even if you are playing on a legit Canadian account. So either get a secure proxy server or play on FT, AP, Stars, Bodog or UB while you are in Vegas.

As others have said they block US IP addresses. If you buy a phone card that works with dial-up modems then you can dial-in to your canadian ISP and thus have a canadian IP address to go along with your canadian account. Will cost you about 5 cents per minute.

Another way is using a service that lets you link directly to another computer may work as well and charges a nominal monthly fee.

Something that may / may not work. You would need a computer turned on in another country, be online here and simply access that computer.

NOTE: I do NOT suggest breaking the laws, there are just ways to do things.
