I'm going to stay with a friend in Canada for two weeks, can I play on Party Poker while I'm there?
Sry if this is a repeat post, I tried searching first.

Party poker is allowed in Canada. As long as your account doesn't show a US address, you should be okay

I'm guessing its against Party Poker Rules to use my friends address in canada as my address? Do I need a Canadian bank to deposit? What's keeping people from setting things up in Canada and playing from America?

i dont know colms. i wonder the same thing myself. i think that if you have a friend in canada who is completely trustworthy you could prbly set up some kind of arrangement as far as the money end of it is concerned. i guess it really just depends on how far you are willing to go.

How about someone forming a legal corporation in Canada and hiring American players to play Canadian accounts? Possible?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Set up some kind of proxy service for americans.
On another note, how difficult is it for a US Citizen to go to Canada and get a canadian ID and bank account?

That's possible although there are probably legal issues. Canada, being a 1st world country that respects the rule of law, probably wouldn't allow it.

It's easy if you move here.
You're not getting a DL, utility bill or other important ID otherwise.
Identity theft being an issue, you'd have to apply in person with mega-ID to get a bank account.

Party, Paradise, Pinnacle and others block ALL USA IP addresses.
Some players (and if they're smart they don't talk about it) use foreign proxy servers. There's hoop-jumping, cost, inconvenience and risks involved.
