This has been bugging me for a while. I've searched the FAQ, and still need clarification.

I play .05/.10, 9 handed no-limt holdem online. To me, that's microstakes.

I LOVE reading the microstakes forum, and have a huge amount of respect for many posters here. I've learned a ton from you guys.

I'm aware of the full ring forum, but they're discussing $2 big blinds, $4 big blinds...

It seems my game has more in common with other microstakes games than other 9-handed games. I always put "FR" in my subject lines so you know you're not looking at a 6-max hand.

If people like me don't belong here, oh well. Please make a note in the posting guidelines.

Why not simply learn to play 6max? Real question, not a dig. You're playing these stakes to learn, right? That's the main reason for the forum. We all learn faster and profit more at 6max, thus the weight put on it here.

Jump in, water's fine.

funny, I was just thinking the same thing. Might be a way to loosen up my thinking without leveling up. I'm kind of in a bored rut at 10nl anyway.

Only reason I've been playing 9-handed is I see all you smart guys at 6max, and don't want to have to compete /images/graemlins/smile.gif

6max mainly just puts more emphasis on post-flop, yes?

Loads of fish in these oceans. I think especially down in the micro-micro. If you can afford it, 25NL is a real good place to start. Only because play at the really low levels is so incredibly insane that it's almost not a good place to learn. Not quite that bad, but not as good as 25+. It's not like 25NL will ever really cost you more than $250 -- and that's if you run insanely bad, or suck.

They are also discussing 10NL in the full ring forum ... it is where you belong /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think 6max just magnifies everything, more variance but a better player has more of an edge against those below him in the food chain.

I posted/discussed 5NL FR hands on the FR forum and they were very helpful. They did discuss breaking the FR forum up into micro/higher stakes but not sure if thats going down or not.

I played 16k hands of FR just to get my nl game going and Im glad I finally made the switch to 6max. To get going with 6max watch the I_Strong videos and also read this link. (http://www.pr0crast.com/2+2.NL.Anthology.v1.htm)

you have sick WTS values combined with g00t W$SD figures. Nice run. You might go to SD a little too often though.
