UTG is 24/18/2.2 over 78 hands. UTG has been very aggressive and raising a lot in last few orbits. UTG probably sees me as really tight, my stats in that session were about 14/12/3.

To get it all in with the draw, you need your equity from your outs and the fold equity. Shoving flop gives you fold equity plus the outs to catch if called. Just calling, you have no fold equity obv and don't have odds (4.75:1 to hit str8) to call just with your outs.

I do not like the 3 bet with TJs vs an UTG raise...Calling is marginall also...

As played if you are going to bet it should be with the intention of shoving over the raise..When villain make the small raise you are getting the proper implied odds to call..Turn you are not getting the proper odds to calls and open shoving has no FE..

Agree. I would fold to raise on flop. However, if you are going to call push on turn, it is musch better to 3B push flop instead.

What the [censored] are you doing preflop? Who gives a [censored] if you've been really tight and UTG is raising a lot.. it's NOT a hand you 3-bet when he raises UTG AND when you're OOP. Christ!

Since you got into this mess, b/3b flop and hope you hit.

Preflop play is crap against an EP raise and you're OOP. You could overpush flop if you're confindent you have FE, but fold otherwise.

I fold pf. On the flop I 3bet ai. Bf the flop sucks since we are priced in vs AA and every once in a while villain has A high or whatever and folds.

Confession time. I was not the BB, I was the UTG and I had AJo. I know, making stupid big bluffs is one of my biggest leaks. Fortunately I make these much less than before. Anyway, the reason why I posted this hand, and from villains perspective, is that after the hand villain said in chat "your stats are too aggressive". That got me thinking that could this be the right play against aggressive villain. Based on the comments, his play wasn't very good. Maybe that OESD was actually unfortunate for him.

Against this type of villian, there are better places to play for stacks.

Fold pre-flop.

You missed the point of this example. It wasn't about my hand, it was about villains play and his perception of my style.

I call pf. On the flop I 3bet ai.

This is sick.

Op,

Just call if anything PF, 3 betting here is terrible.

If you need to 3 bet, shove the flop, represent the overpair so you have some FE and if you are behind its not hidiously and hoplelessly behind.
