Also, since your cards are made for Party...because I play on Pokerstars I had to resized them and recolored the corners from yellow to black (so the corners were rounded in Pstars) and also renamed files...it was a fair bit of work.....so I know it will save ppl time and wanted to ask if u could host it or if u didnt care Tstone could.

Either way doesnt matter to me. Sweet mod by the way.

First off, good job mmbt0ne, these cards are fantastic. I love the look of these already, after only a few hours of use.

Secondly, shortly after I downloaded and started using these, I noticed a strange slowdown issue with my computer. I am using these on EmpirePoker & MultiPoker - I don't have Party yet, so I don't know if the same occurs there, but I suspect it will.

Basically, the computer stutters & the mouse action becomes jumpy for about 3 seconds, this only happens when a hand goes to showdown, and players cards are revealed. For a while, I suspected the newest version of PA-HUD, but no, it was my fancy new card graphics. 8 tabling with Empire & Multi, the showdowns were occuring too often to live with this problem. I replaced yours with the original cards, and all was back to normal. I then looked a little closer (already can't stand looking at original cards :-), I noticed yours are 24-bit colour, while the originals are only 8-bit (256 colour).

After using Paint Shop to decrease the colour depth of all the NewCards to 8-bit, all is well, the slowdown at showdown is gone.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has encountered this - If you have, I hope this solution works for you.

I can email my fixed version to someone if need be, I have also changed the black spade cards to a dark grey - I prefer this on my black background table. PM me an email address if you want the 8-bit Party Newcards.zip.

All I have done is change the spade cards to grey, so they are more visible with by background.

Also made them 8-bit to prevent the slowdown I experienced.

You would not believe how long it takes to get dealt 2 spades, and spades to come on the flop when you are waiting for a screenshot /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yea, I have these now, and really like them. I do like your version slightly better. But, I am very happy with the ones I have as well. As for the above poster. Download these new cards, unzip them, open up "my computer", your hard drive, program files, Pokerstars, then, when that folder is open, open up the image file, then drag the new cards over into the PS image file. This will replace the old images with the new ones. There is probably an easier way, but thats what I do.

If u want these to work for party (dunno if u have Photoshop or not) u just have to change the new images back to 57 by 77 and recolor the corners yellow (so they appear rounded within the party software.)

I have spent some time this evening using Paintshop's Copy & Paste feature, also the Resize feature, to produce a set of these fine cards for use on the Crypto sites.

I have only tested on Interpoker, but I think it is the same for all the Crypto sites. These are different to Party & stars, the Crypto skins use a single large Jpeg file with all the cards in it. Also, a second large file, but a bit darker, for darkening unused cards of the winning hand at showdown.

Many thanks to everyone who has participated in this thread, I have used everyone's improvements to composite these cards. Also modded the Interpoker table a little while I was messing about so as to reduce the on screen clutter and make open seats a bit more obvious.

Great cards guys, really.

For those that want to keep pokerstarsupdate running, I've got a solution. Open Notepad (Start->Programs->Accessories->Notepad), and go to File->Save. Now point it to the main pokerstars directory and change the Save As Type from "text document" to "all files". Type in pokerstars.bat and save it.

Now, copy and paste this text into it:

pokerstarsupdate.exe
copy /y "gx\chips&~1\card*.bmp" "gx\chips&~1\old\card*.bmp"

All you need to do is make sure there are directories "old" and "new" in pokerstars\gx\chips&deck\ and that the "new" directory has the new cards. Also, point your shortcuts to the .bat file and turn 4 color decks off (yes, off).

Probably way too complicated, but you keep the update file and the files will always work. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

That is a good batch file, thanks. I blended it with one that APerfect10 created in his Stars PokerAce layout (which also includes a nice background image for the table).

So, now, I've got a file that will work with both the background and the cards. If you only have the cards mods, you need to remove the references to the background (hopefully should be straightforward). Disclaimer: I'm at work, so I haven't tested this out, but I thought I would put it up here -- it should work unless I've got a typo in it.

Instructions:
* Copy everything below the === to a .bat file in the PokerStars folder.
* The Stars icon in the Start menu needs to point to this .bat file.
* Put the file for the table background (bg_black.jpg) in the Gx folder.
* Create two sub folders for Gx\chips&deck called "old" and "new".
* Put the modified cards into the "new" sub folder.
* In the Stars app, turn off 4 color decks.

Heh, the problem is, resizing them increases the size of the corners. Which then gives yellow streaks in the corners. Trust me, I know, I've just done them all.. plus if you don't resize with some kind of sharpening the cards go blurry, seeing as they are being re-re-sized from 57x77 in the first place.. then there's the whole renaming all the files..

It was a right royal pain in the arse actually. Oh, I almost forgot. Not to mention making sure the mode was RGB to start with so they resized without looking as if Paint had done it, then back to Indexed so they would save as 8-bit format for smaller file size. (The stars ones are all 16- or 24-bit, can't remember which)

I think this comes from the artefacts created in the images during the double resizing process - the extra "detail" in the resized versions cannot be zipped down as much as the solid colours in the original cards.

To make the cards work on crypto, just overwrite the files: p_cardsheet_4col.jpg and p_cardsheet_4col_dark.jpg in the "Program Files\InterPoker\Img" folder.

To make the background, I opened p_10pbg.jpg (from the above folder) in Paint Shop, and painted black over all the chairs & stuff, leaving just the table. This can then be copied over p_2pbg.jpg (heads-up table) p_6pbg.jpg (6-max table) and p_8pbg.jpg (8 player table).

It is wise to back up these files before overwriting anything, just in case something goes wrong somewhere.

I can post my background here if you like, respond if you want me to.

Hi all, It seemed reasonable to bump this fine thread.

I have now seen several threads requesting PokerRoom mods.

I started at the (now PokerRoom) Coral / Eurobet Poker a few days ago to clear the $600 bonus, and find I can't stand to look at normal cards anymore /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have recreated the fine work of mmbt0ne, to produce this lovely PokerRoom Skin:

PokerRoom skins are a bit tricky to modify - the client auto-updates every time you start it, overwriting modified files.

I have constructed a crude batch file to take care of this problem.

Image files hosted here (http://www.freefileupload.net/file.php?file=files/1133577816/mod.zip) - free hosting, please mirror if anyone can.

To use this, you must extract the modified images to "Program Files\CoralPoker\Resources\Graphics\mod"

Also, you must create another folder: "Program Files\CoralPoker\Resources\Graphics\originals"
copy & paste the original files from "Program Files\CoralPoker\Resources\Graphics\" in to this "originals" folder.

now go to the "Program Files\CoralPoker", and create a new text file. Rename as "start_coral.bat", or anything else you like.

Copy The following code into the .bat file, & save.

I made a shortcut to this .bat file on my desktop.

basically, it copies the original graphics into the right place, opens the client, pauses while the clien logs in, then overwrites the graphics with the mods when the client has finished logging in and you press a key.


I am using Coral Poker - most of you will be using Eurobet - exactly the same, but all paths will have to be changed from Coral to Eurobet. I presume this will work with any PokerRoom Skin, given the appropriate alterations to the .bat file.


Please post if you have trouble converting paths etc. I will try to help.

Very nice work. I think you might be able to write a slightly better batch-file if you make an AHK script. Instead of asking the user to hit &lt;space&gt; when the page loads, you can have the script look at the poker app and recognize when it's ready.

The batch file is the epitomy of minimal, I know. Not even checking for anything with IF EXIST, etc. I wanted to play, and this is the least I could get away with before it would work. I did add the "Please wait for poker client to load..." line, for release to the public, lol /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I will have to look into AHK sometime, I knew it was good for gamepads / keyboard poker, but I didn't know it could do this sort of stuff. Sounds interesting.

This is a great mod, but I must have missed something somewhere along the line. How do I get rid of the players and get those cool borders around the player name and stack amount? Thanks.

Great mod. Is there any fix for the sounds? I like all the sounds except for that stupid 'shuffeling' sound. such a terrible SCREEEEEEEEECH. I tried deleting the file but after a few minutes the file just comes back. Anyone? please help!

Thanks for the mod. I did what you said but how do you actually get the bat file to run?

Also, are you supposed to copy and paste the original files from the graphics folder, or cut and paste.

One of the things I don't like about this software compared to Party's is that you hear the sounds for all the tables you have open, not just the one you have highlighted. It sounds like fireworks with 4 tables going. So I like to keep everything silent except for the "your_turn" &amp; the "wake_up" sounds.

What is working for me is that after I load up the program using _dave_'s mod (Great mod &amp; Thanks) I copy &amp; replace the sound files I don't like with blank sound files of the same name.

I'm sure a batch file could be written or just added to the one I use to start the program with _dave_'s mod but I'm not that advanced yet.

Hope this helps or gives you some ideas.

After writing this &amp; playing a little poker, I went back &amp; looked at that batch file &amp; with a little common sense I figured it out. I just set up my sound mods the same as the graphic mods directories. My batch file now looks like this:

I applied modifed the bright cool color cards for Full Tilt. I finally figured out the "magic eraser" is teh shiznit tool in Photoshop. I may just go crazy with transparency if I feel like it.

1) make a back up of C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\Graphics\Table\Elements\Cards.png

2) Right-click on the above picture and save it to C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\Graphics\Table\Elements\

Full Tilt does not use a separate color for hearts &amp; spades in 4-color mode, so if you want to switch back to "regular" cards, you have to change out the picture file.

And thanks to whoever started those cards.

Waffle, love your Stars mode - but I can't get it to work. Unzipped into the PokerStars folder, ran PS.bat twice as directed, I can see the bmp's in \Gx\chips&amp;deck are the modded ones, but PS still shows the original cards - what gives? Thanks!
