i think you need to either pot the flop or check it and try and play a small pot. personally i check this flop as you are betting into an UTG raiser who could have you crushed from PF (and if so, will raise your PF lead on this wet board) and another caller both who have position on you. this seems like a marginal spot.

turn bet is good and river fold is good.

As played, you have to bf or check/call river.

Smells like a slow played set or donk that will not fold overcards. Looking at his stats I would say set, in which case I would have checked turn and possible folded bet, he has position and the pot is building fine no real need to raise and give away his hand.

villain can have a tj for a missed straight draw or two diamonds for a missed flush draw.

The river is a perfect card for him to bluff. That's why I like the check/call because the bf will not get value from the missed draws

You got lucky river scared you so much, he had a set there for sure.

He played it well, you on the other hand should re raise him to 6.66$ preflop.

actually, why in the hell are you betting out on the flop?

I think he has AK, A9 or A8 or a set about as often as he has a busted straight or flush draw. So call! $15 to win $60 on a 50/50 /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I like the flop lead, but I would bet out a bit more maybe $6 or so.

Turn bet is good.

River, is a fold, I wouldnt suspect to see any worse hands here especially since its an ace. Villian doesn't seem to aggressive, so I don't suspect hes making a move here.

i think we have to bet the flop here. If we get raised we can safely fold, but there are way to many draws to let them draw cheaply firstly, and secondly if we are bet into I don't like just having to c/c the whole way id rather be the aggressor.

any stats?
i dont mind a flop bet
but i probably wont be the turn, its a marginal spot and you hope to keep the pot small.

we did not raise preflop, so we should not lead this flop.

I like to get his cbet in and cr him.
