I got the feelig he tries to outplay me.
Is the bet on the river too much? I think it's not b/c two pair will call here as well as some TP hands.

I'd call this preflop against an unknown utg raiser.

as played, nh

stack a donk on the turn might have been a better choice especially if he's the way you describe him

I thought about calling, but since the bigstack is in, i think i could get much more money if i flop right.

How should i have stacked him on the turn?

stack a donk: just push hope he calls with AK/AQ? You need to get away with that pretty often before you make up for the missed value on the later streets if he folds.

stack a donk.. bet flop.. check raise turn.

i'm surprised that you guys don't know what stack-a-donk is.
it's raise pf, cbet flop, and crai turn

well since you will only hit a set in like ~10% of the flops you will be completely lost in the rest with your btm pair (or you will get lucky and hit your 2-outer /images/graemlins/wink.gif )
and you can still start to build a huge pot when you hit your set and fold otherwise

I have control over the pot as well.
I could win by cbetting often enough to make up for the few losses.

Followup Question to Scrubbo&prodonkey: what do you mean with stacking a donk on the turn? How can I actively stack someone other than pushing AI, or is that what you suggest for the turn play here? (seems to me to lose a lot of value against possible medium holdings which would call up to psb)

The reason for asking about this in more detail is that I lately found myself not stacking my opponents often enough when I hold a set. Usually I go for potsized bets on flop and turn and shove the rest in on the river. However, most of the time the river shove doesn't get a call.
Is it really better to shove on the turn, or is this move specifically only any good when applied against a donk?

check the turn.. donks love trying to take the pot away, as op suggested this one likes to try to outplay him. So when you check.. he will bet, then you check raise all in.

I think that calling preflop is stronger also I do not think that CBing this flop is profitable at all esp that you have feeling that he is trying to outplay you

If you want to bet big on the river, just go all in.
People call an all in easier than a big bet, maybe they think you're bluffin or something.

It's pretty funny when they call and show a hand that is clearly beaten.

Preflop: horrible.
Flop: Wonderful.
Turn: Awesome. Checking there is pretty putrid.
River: OK. Bet size might be a tad big. This would be the spot to go for the c/r, not the turn. But betting is preferred obv.

Reread the hand... I think you don't want to checkraise here, because you are letting the flush draw for free.
