villain is 61/7/2.38 after 44 hands. Comments on turn minraise? Also do we vb this river? He has about the pot left and I'm not sure he can/will call with worse.

Turn min-raise accomplishes very little IMO. Hero checks this river with good showdown value.

value bet is a must here imo. i'm betting about $10-12 and folding to a raise, although i don't think we get check raised very often in this spot.

turn minraise is awfull
call>raise to 10 at least>fold
I think, however I am not 100% sure that calling>raising it might be pretty equal EV wise

edit:
If u call VB river
If u raise I check behind

I find it intresting how you played this hand. PF and flop is pretty std. But could you expand on your thought process in terms of the min-raise?

After he checks to you on the river Clear $12-15 valuebet.

i dont like the minraise. The only reason i can see for a turn minraise is to get a free SD, or get value out of a really weak ace, but he doesnt have a weaker ace than you. Against this guy i dont think its a good idea, he obv has no idea about betsizing, so i dont think hes gonna bet something large that you cant call on the river. and i can still see him donking river small after your minraise with whatever.

i call turn and call a river bet, if he checks river i value bet. As played i make about a 1/2 pot bet

I don't see what the minraise did but whatever.

Please value bet river for $12 though.

So nobody likes the minraise for the free showdown? That is all I was trying to accomplish.

hrm. i don't understand why you need to raise for a free showdown when this guy is only betting like 1/4 the pot anyway.

[/ QUOTE ]Because he could bet the pot on the river which is a push that I don't want to call and if he reraises the turn or leads the river I can fold easily.
