you gonna get banned for a month /images/graemlins/frown.gif. you raise because not everybody or even decent amount floats, esp. at the $10 or $25. You want to do most of your raising in the c/o or button anyways so you should have position unless the button calls. As I told you before take dbitels advice and just play pairs and big aces UTG and MP and play more hands in position until you get a better grasp of postflop poker.

Or how about this,

Instead of just c-betting, why don't you think about what the other person has and outplay them. If they keep floating you, stop c-betting them. Easy.

If you don't get respect in the room and can't outplay them, find another room.

regardless of the true intention of your posts many of them are seen as whiny "why can't i win?", "why does everything go wrong" posts. these sorts of posts belong in bbv. even if your question is genuine, it belongs in the "beginners" forum.

as for your question: you raise for value and/or protection; it's that simple. if you find that your opponents often float you, it's probably b/c you are weak tight and they think they can bluff you off of the hand later.

OP,

I think you have a valid question but it should be directed in way that is beneficial to you.
