When I browse 2+2 at work here, I am constantly having to look over my shoulder since there are lots of obviouly non-work-related ads flying all over the page. This is to be expected since this site needs to sustain itself financially.
However, what if an ad-free version of 2+2 was developed that was available only to paying members? Members would have the choice of viewing the forums with ads and without. The ad-free version could be very basic and more work-friendly in appearace. I'd certainly pay for it and I would think others would as well.
So anyway, there's my idea. I'm sure others will be against it for various reasons but if the concept is popular enough it could be a better money generator than the countless ads all over this forum. Not that I'm complaining, because I actually want to see these ads at home - but at work they cause me a little bit of apprehension about browsing the site.
