Hi everyone,

With the advent of PS VIP program, Party's rakeback demise, and various rakeback offers from other sites, I was thinking it would be a good project for the Zoo to create sort of a database of how much rake is paid in terms of BB/100 at various sites and limits.

I am thinking of utilizing Pokertracker's rake paid info, and simply dividing by BB and number of hands. If this approach is innacurate, someone please let me know. I imagine rake data converges pretty rapidly, so even data from as little as 1000 hands should be close enough. If the inhabitants of the Zoo could help out by posting rake data they have, I will compile a list and post it here later on for everyone to use.

Please format your contribution in terms of Site, Limit, Game (Full ring/short handed), and BB/100 in rake. Also, filter the data to display recent results only (say back 2 months) to keep the info about the current rake structure (as rake structures change).

I'll start with what I have:

PokerStars:

3/6 HE Full 1.11 BB/100
2/4 HE Full 1.28 BB/100

Pokerroom:

3/6 Full 2.10 BB/100
2/4 Full 2.04 BB/100

Thanks!!

I find the following method to be more accurate in terms of calculating rake:

Go to the summary tab in PT. Make sure that your stats are included, and look at the overall BB/100 for all players, combined. This will always be a negative number, and since you've included all players, the only money that can account for the loss is, of course, the rake. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Using that method, I get 1.48 BB/100 as the rake for PokerStars 3/6; 2.02 for 3/6 on Party.

I like that method!

Ok, numbers using your method:

PokerStars:

3/6 HE Full 1.62 BB/100
2/4 HE Full 1.31 BB/100

Pokerroom:

3/6 HE Full 2.58 BB/100
2/4 HE Full 2.57 BB/100

Wow, Pokerroom is a real bastard.

ugggh

2.88 for Paradise 3/6 5max over 3.5k hands.

3.27 for Party 3/6 6max over same # hands.

is this enough hands, cuz it seems really bad...

The problem with this is that tighter players pay less rake, so it's not neccessarily reflective of what you personally pay in rake.

Using PokerTracker, is there a way for me to find out exactly how much rake I pay (from the amount of pots that I win)?

In other words: From every pot that I win, can PokerTracker add and keep track of the total rake that is taken out of those particular pots?

Thank You,

Yeah, I should have mentioned this - it's not a good indication of how much rake you personally play, but it is a great measure of how much money the site is taking off the table.

A similar project was carried out on another forum (http://www.internettexasholdem.com/phpbb2/poker-room-rake-comparison-vt30145.html) , I think there were links to it on 2+2 before. Let's hope the mods are nice enough not to remove the URL.
If so, google on "rake comparison" and you shouldn't have trouble finding it.

Thanks! That is exactly what I had in mind. It covers almost every major room. Looks like Pokerstars has the best rake up to the 3/6 level, then after that other rooms are better.

I need data of the rake that 1/2 SHLHE players pay at Pokerroom and Party Poker. So can anybody that playes either 6 max at party or 5 max at Pokerroom give me the numbers for all players on those limits.
