I was watching WPT last night, not sure if it was a repeat or not.
JJ Liu Q /images/graemlins/spade.gifJ /images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Ted Forrest K /images/graemlins/club.gif5 /images/graemlins/club.gif.
Flop A /images/graemlins/club.gifKx.
Turn T /images/graemlins/club.gif
river x /images/graemlins/club.gif
Forrest pushes 2x the pot on the river, and she calls.
This is the worst play I have ever seen.
I am sort of surpised Forrest pushed 2x the pot as anyone normal would never call here. I guess he correctly analyzed how stupid she was.

Why in the world would anyone ever give anyone credit for a backdoor flush when otherwise you have the nuts? Forrest could have easily been pushing a worse hand for value.

Because of the way the action went.
No, he was not pushing any worse for value. This guy knows he is vastly superior to her, and read her for a strong hand, and would not be pushing even a set here. This is the same guy who didn't value bet AA v Negraneu on some board that was like A666x.

How about when she folded the flush draw with overs against middle pair?

This was pretty bad too, only because I know that she had a 4/9 chance to win the whole thing right there against a player better than her.
There is some argument for folding though, as she is in deep trouble against a better flush draw.

Wrong forum.
Inaccurate reporting of the hand.
The flop had two clubs.
Forrest made the flush on the turn
The river club was the fourth board club.
Forrest made a tiny river bet, about 1/5 the size of the pot.

She even asked him if he had a frush so it was not a big surprise.
How often is he betting 2x the pot there when he doesn't have a flush. (I estimate <10% of the time).
