Villain is 56/0/0.25 over 30 hands. Should I bet the turn or take the free card? What about my river bet?

I just check river, he's so passive he probably would just check it as well. I don't think you'll lose much value either, you don't beat much and are just hoping he will fold.

If he has a missed draw he wont give you value on your bet, nor will he call any bet.

So just check imo

I think the turn check is okay. I think bet-folding would be all right too.

Versus a guy with those stats, even over a small sample, I would check-fold the river (well, unless he bet very small). It's not really giving up, exactly, since you'll frequently win when he checks a naked spade behind. Annoyingly, you will also sometimes lose to hands like a spadeless 87o, but I don't see much you can do about that that wouldn't be a spew.

I don't see any value in betting the river against this guy at all though. He's not folding any hand you beat.

Wow my river bet sucks indeed. I guess my thinking was kinda weirdly mixed up between "uh oh VB and block-bet" lol

Every time you bet think what you beat that calls, and what you dont beat that folds. Both categories for this are pretty thin so I wouldn't bother in that spot.
