Stop trying to be a smart-ass. If you're genuinely confused ask the poster with less of a condescending attitude. It's more constructive and avoids the risk of making yourself look an absolute idiot like you do right now.

What's wrong with a PM? Why a new thread of all things?

HU for rollz (which is what, like $8 at our stakes?)

If you have a problem with another member you should either take it up with them via PM or talk to a mod about it...calling them out in a thread is about as immature as you can get.

ps. ban plz

If I make a post I don't expect the sort of responses I got from him. He banned my other account so i posted with a new one. I made the mistake of thinking he wouldn't be able to read any more messages in that post.

I've never used the PM function, which is why I didn't think of using it.

PS. Ban plz

He was being a complete [censored] trying to make me look a fool in this thread: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=0#Post11239805 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=11239805&an=0&page=0#Pos t11239805)

2+2 forums seem full of them sadly.

Wow. This is one of the worst threads in this forum in a while.

Raze- I really think you played that other hand poorly. I think you gave the villain way too much credit and didn't consider his range.

More importantly, I think you demonstrated more of a bad attitude in that thread then Chomp.

This thread is the icing on the cake.

Well I'll turn this into a Chomp love-fest thread. Although we disagree on specific advice from time to time, Chomp's one of my favorite uNL posters.

Edit to say that some (most) of us old-timers here can be short, direct and brutal. The fact is we're trying to help you with your game and we're not slagging you as a person, so take the advice, ask for more explanation and/or argue constructively and don't take it personally. A lot of the advice here will translate directly into cash in your pocket if you're willing to suck it up and take it like a man.

Maybe, but I was provoked. There is no excusing his attitude.

As someone who doesn't really know Chomp or you... His first post had a little attitude. Your response had MUCH more attitude then he did.

You were (and still) are showing much more bad attitude. I think you need to check yourself before you go off on another poster.

This post and the post referred to in this thread are a big waste of time and run completely counter to the purpose of this forum.

I think some people need to get thicker skins and learn to better take criticism of their play and I think others need to keep their critiques from becoming personal attacks. That being said, the hallmark of these forums over the years has been the "tough-love" style of advice. Personally, I think that works best here because it better helps people guage their improvement and understanding of the game i.e. if your analysis is not defecated on like it once was...you're probably improving.

'Anger' I think is the word your looking for. I told him to re-read the post ... and he just turned into even more of a smart-ass and kept it up throughout. He even managed to keep it up after recognising he was completely wrong.

Maybe I should learn to be a little more tolerant of [censored], but I still think my anger is excusable.

This smart-ass attitude is much more prevalent in the small-stakes forums where people are trying to compete intellectually. They can't just let their bankroll do the talking. It's pathetic.

He said he was genuinely confused by the post. Perhaps he is really an idiot but there's no reason to answer his question that way. Civility usually is the best course of action.

Your first reply to him called him an idiot and then you told him to re-read the post. It's no wonder he then gave you [censored] then.

PLEASE to not let people like OP make people afraid to give criticism.

Take the tough criticism and improve. The majority of replies are to help posters improve there game or see flaws they have. They are NOT meant to be polite and make one feel good about themselves. I for one would hate that. Put a spotlight on my leaks to I can admit to myself where my problems are and fix them.

If you get offended, SUCK IT UP.
