Props to Alex Kravchenko. He started the day 27th of 36 with 1.7 mil and never got over 2 Mil until almost 8 hours in!

Picked his spots and moved on up. He's still the shorty but one double up will put him right in the thick of things.

The whole big country is behind him. Russian poker forum is just going nuts...

And it's so pleasant that Helmuth and Gordon are rooting for him.

If anyone deserves to win than it`s Alex.. for that kind of play you gotta have nerves of steel! Go Alex /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll root for the guy because everybody here seems to, but shortstack play reguires the exact opposite. Nerves of putty? He couold have nerves of steel but it definitely is not a prerequisite for SS play.

Why is Alex playing so weak now that he has chips? Bet Alex!! GOGOGOGOGO.

It's easy to see why Alex is so good playing a shortstack. The way he plays he'll rarely spend a lot of time with a stack of any other size.

We Russians are inherently greedy people, so he probably wants to ensure he makes top 3. /images/graemlins/wink.gif Either that or he's not getting any cards.

Then why all those years of struggle against the capitalist empire? It seems to me that`capitalism would be the preferred economic model for the greedy.

Anyone see his interview on pokernews? he said he'd probably play less poker now, not more, so I'd gather that he was looking for the payday as the field started whittling down. He also said he was playing tighter than the rest of the field.
